Hey, everyone! Another nice day here in West Virginia! Been busy working on class cards for classes this week. I received my preorder yesterday from 7kidscollegefund and it included the Fleur de Lis Shapeabilitie set from Spellbinders! I just HAD to try it out this afternoon.

I used SU Black and Pretty Pink cardstocks and Doodlebug Sugar paper in Lavendar. The pic is making it look blue (rats!) I think I need a better camera! LOL! The border punch is Fiskars, but it matches pretty well. There is a borderabilitie that matches these dies perfectly, but I didn't feel the need for that. The pearl in the middle is from my SU Flower Kit and seemed to fit that spot just right. The saying is from the "Out of the Box" stamp set from paper Tray. It's really hard to find sets that go vertically instead of horizontally. Til tomorrow.....

Happy Monday, everyone! What a beautiful day it has been.....so sunny and not too hot. Spent the earlier part of the day cutting grass, then took a well-needed rest.
I finished this card yesterday afternoon, took longer than usual since I was still fighting a stomach "bug". I love this style of card! I used the new SU Hostess set "Asian Artistry" for the front picture. The cardstocks used are SU Mellow Moss, Not Quite Navy, So Saffron and Pale Plum. The Versamarked images are small stamps from the Paper Trey set "Limitless Labels". The inside sayings come from SU "So Many Sayings and another set whose name escapes me at the moment...LOL!

I mentioned in my last post that I would post pictures of my new puppy that we went and picked out this past Saturday. He is the most precious thing....I picked this one out of the 3 males they had left because he crawled up on my leg and fell asleep. He is a real cuddler and I totally fell in "puppy" love! We will get him in 3 weeks when he is 8 weeks old. Can't wait!! It's a bittersweet experience, since I am SOOO missing my beloved Hunter!

Can you see why I fell in love with him?? His parents are the most beautiful golden retrievers I have ever seen! The breeders are wonderful people and they actually driving the pup up to our house, since it's a 2 hour trip down to theirs. We named the lil fella Alexander Casey, will call him Alex. Til tomorrow....and yes, that is me in the picture getting the puppy kiss!

Happy Friday, everyone! Can't believe I am finally back in here......it's been one heck of a week! Lots of work to be done around here. Plus, I have been dealing with some kind of stomach bug that just doesn't want to go away. But today it's feeling a bit better.
This card started with a base card of SU Always Artichoke. The "Top Note" SU die cut the patterned piece which is a My Mind's Eye" paper. The saying comes from the SU stamp set "elegant Cheer". I punched the flower with my 3 flower SU punch. The brown cardstock is the new In Color "Soft Suede". Finally, (of course!) I dotted the center of the flower with Platinum Stickles.
On a different note....I am SO excited! We are going tomorrow to pick out a male Golden Retriever pup. There are 4 we get to choose from, they are almost 5 weeks old. Then, in 2 weeks, we get to bring him home. I have been so down about losing my precious Hunter and I have been searching everywhere for a breeder of retrievers. Had just about given up, when I talked to a woman that used to breed them and she gave me the name of a gentleman and I called him. He is an hour and 45 minutes from us, but that's not bad. It has made the mood around here a bit better, needless to say! So, til Monday.....

No cards today.....

Hello, all! I mentioned yesterday that I was working on taking down the border in our entry hall. Well, I finished that and today was able to paint both colors on the walls......ended up needing to do 2 coats of the beige color, DANG!! I put up 1 piece of the new border just to see what it looked like together and I am SOOOO pleased with the way it's turning out! The camera actually took a pic very close to the actual colors. Those of you who know me know that I am usually very "country" in my decorating, but I wanted something out of my usual comfort zone! I actually got this paper because it matches very closely to the paper I have in my powder room right off the entry. Tomorrow I am going to finish hanging the border and put all the furniture back in it's place. I see a new floral arrangement for here in the very near future....LOL!! Til Monday.....

Hi, everyone! I didn't get a chance to work on any cards today. I have been wanting to redecorate our entry hall, so I stripped off all the wallpaper border out there. Then took a trip to Walmart to buy the paint. Can't wait to get to the painting tomorrow morning!
I did this card 2 weeks ago and never posted it. I wanted to try out a technique I saw on another blog where she did dry embossing on the back of vellum. Then she colored in the design on the front. I used SU Barely Banana, Ballet blue and Sage green....not a very common combo, but it turned out pretty nice. I stamped the butterfly in black on vellum, turned the circle over and used a small stylus to emboss the back of the design. Then I flipped it over and colored in the butterfly. This really makes the design "pop". It is mounted on a scalloped nestie. The embossing folder is a CB folder and the border is from Martha Stewart.
Check out my clematis this year!! This is the largest the flowers have ever gotten and I am SO excited to see it grow this high! The pic was taken 2 weeks ago and today the flowers are the whole way up to the top of the pole! Til tomorrow (if I finish my painting)

Happy Wednesday, all!! Great day to be working and crafting.....
This particular card was done with the new Paper Trey Picnic Basket stamp set. I used SU pretty in Pink, Old Olive, (Norine, I didn't use Certainly Celery!! LOL!!) and Close to Cocoa ink on the basket. The butterflies are done in Barely Banana. This set is wonderful, it has 5 different baskets to choose from, lots of items to put "inside" the basket and the add-on set has a wonderful collection of sayings to use with this set. Gotta love those PT stamps! The patterned paper is by Anna Griffin and the border is a Fiskars border punch. Til tomorrow.....

Happy Tuesday, all! It's been a draining day today, had to have bloodwork done early this morning. Came home and cleaned up the craft room and the sewing room, bound and determined to work done there. It was lonely, needless to say. I miss my constant companion! But it was fine after a while.....
This is a new type of folded card to me, and I really like it! I used SU Ballet Blue and Real red colors. The stamps are all unmounted stamps that I have had for a while. I used Versamark Frosted for all the background stars. The SU star punch came in handy for the punched punched. Of course, there needed to be some Stickles on the stars. I saw this type of card on a few blogs and needed to try it. It will be going with the basket that I posted yesterday! Til tomorrow....
