Hello, everyone! Hope everyone has had a good start to the week. Monday is always a rough day for me, with laundry, errands and sometimes bill-paying! But today was not the best....last night the mother of 2 very dear friends passed away. She went into a coma late Saturday night and never came out of it. She was having trouble last week while in her assisted-living apartment and they put her in the hospital. It was downhill from there. She was a wonderful lady and lived to be 93. I have known the family since we moved here 30 years ago. The one daughter was the first person I met when we came here and she introduced me to many people, groups, etc. Her sister I got to know more later on when we both became interested in embroidery and we also worked together at a local fabric store for many years. I feel so bad for them right now, as I went through the death of my own mother 6 years ago.

Needless to say, I wanted to create some really special sympathy cards. I used the "Nightengale" stamp set from Inque (See D's larger sets). My choice of cardstock was SU Silver and Gold Metallic, since it's a nice, sturdy cardstock for embossing. The sayings are stamps I have had in my collection, but have seldom used. I scalloped the bottom edge with the scallop blade on my rotary cutter and backed it with CA Paper Goods Satin Cardstock, also used that on the oval nesties. I am pleased with the way these turned out. On the inside, I stamped the bird from the stamp set and the saying comes from one of the newer SU stamp sets. Heart corners are from the Fiskars Heart Corner punch and the white cardstock on the inside is the wonderful White from Paper Trey Ink. If you click on the pictures, you can see the details better. Now I just need to address these and get them in the mail first thing tomorrow morning. Til next time.....

Debbie
