Howdy all! I am SOOOOO excited to share this project with you today! I was at a friend's house yesterday and she was teaching a class in this technique of applying stamped images to a candle. I believe the original idea came from Gina K's Stamp TV. I was there to drop off a few things and stayed to watch them do this.

I found these candles at Walmart, this one is white and is unscented. I used one of my stamps from Blue Ridge Impressions called "Amazing Grace". The flower that I used on the back of the candle also came from Blue Ridge. I stamped the image in Sepia Versafine ink on white tissue paper. I let it dry for a while, then went back with my Stampin Up markers and colored the flowers and the leaves. The image is then cut out as close to the image as possible. Then I placed the tissue image on the candle where I wanted it. I covered the whole candle with a piece of wax paper. Using my heat embossing gun, I set it on LOW heat and heated the image til it looked wet. Then the wax paper is peeled off, leaving a coating of wax over the image. I had no trouble with the large image, but doing the 2 flowers on the back of the candle, I didn't let the pink flower dry quite enough and needed to peel it off and re-do it. But it still came out looking good! Then I found yellow dotted satin ribbon from Paper Trey Ink and used my ATG gun to attach the ribbon to the candle. I found a narrow pink glisteny ribbon to attach to the yellow. Then the bow is glued on with Beacons 3-1 glue. I LOOOOOVE this idea! Tomorrow I am going to work on an ivory vanilla candle and finish up embroidering a tote bag for myself! Timme to catch up on MY projects! Til tomorrow....
