What a beautiful day it turned out to be here today! Temps were better and the sun came out! I was able to go out this morning and do some craft shopping and visit with 2 friends. One of these friends had borrowed a WHOLE large storage container FULL of the most adorable House Mouse Stamps. So, we are taking turns stamping these images to save for future cardmaking. This friend who owns these stamps inspired my creativity today. Her middle son served in the military over in Iraq and was severely injured almost 2 years ago. His motivation during his recovery was most inspiring to everyone around him. Praise God, he is now a full time student at West Virginia University. Having seen pictures of his injuries in the beginning, I had doubts that the boy, who was a friend of my boys, would survive. But he did!!! So, my prayers and thoughts go out to all those serving our country during this time!

I loved the sketch from yesterday so much that I decided to use it for my card today. It will be submitted with the others I did. The background of this card was done with white SU cardstock. Then I took shiney metallic "mesh" (the proper name escapes me at the moment! It's the stuff you can make bows with.) and adhered it to the white with Dry Bond. The blue and red are Real Red and Brilliant Blue SU cardstock. The gold is the metallic gold from the DCWV Metallic Stack and the stars are Hot Fix.

Since tomorrow is Sunday, I will be taking a break from blogging to spend time resting and relaxing. Til Monday.....
