Happy Monday, everyone! Well, the week is off to a good start! I spent this morning out running errands and stopped at Joann's to pick up a some glue with my coupon and low and behold! I finally found black and white dress fabric! We are in a small town with only Joann's as a local fabric store, so I usually order my fabric online. I have wanted a pretty black and white print to make a summer dress and finally, there it was! It's a black polyester silky fabric with beautiful white butterflies all over it! It inspired the card I am posting today!
This card starts with a background card of SU Lavender Lace. I cut a butterfly card with my new Nested butterfly Shapeabilitie set. The set comes with 3 different sizes and I chose the largest. I cut it from Su Whisper White cardstock and embossed it with the Sizzix Dot embossing folder. The saying is a Hero Arts stamp and it's stamped in SU Mellow Moss I punched the flowers, leaves and small butterflies with some Fiskar and Paper Shaper small punches and glued them to the card. The butterfly is glued to the background card. When you open the butterfly, the Happy Birthday inside was stamped with an acrylic stamp from the Paper Trey set "Birthday Basics". The tiny flower stamped on the lavender background piece was done with the smallest flower stamp from the Paper Trey "With Sympathy" set. I used Versamark to stamp it. Finally, (of course!) I used some Star Dust and Purple Stickles to finish the centers of the flowers and the bodies of the small butterflies. I found some copper wire, twisted it around a piece of floral wire and made the antennae for the butterfly. This is one of my favorite color combos! This is the first card my classes will be doing next week!Hope you enjoy it. Til tomorrow....
